What to do after GNM nursing ???


What should we do after gnm nursing..this is the most and frequently asked question by a fresher nurse.

There are many scopes after gnm nursing. it depends on you what you choose.

  

 we can divide the scope into 2 parts...

  1. you can go for higher studies
  2. job

  1.  Higher studies- if you want to do higher study, then there are many choices for you. you can do some specialist courses in OT Assistant, ICU nurse, ICN( Infection control nurse), Anestiatic nurse, Hospital Management courses, Gynecological nurse, Pediatric nurse, etc courses are available at variant institutes. you can also go for the post-basic BSc nursing. For post-basic BSc nursing, you can get admission in a private institute or you can also get admission in govt. collages state and as well as in central govt. institute like AIIMS, JIPMER. If you want to continue your studies with your job you can get admission to the IGNOU post-basic Bsc nursing program.

     How to apply for diploma courses - every year aiims, jipmer, and other state govt. get you notified on their official website on a particular month of the year. you just have to follow the basic steps to fill the form

  • Go to the official site 
  • log in or you are new to the site, first, you have to sign in or register yourself 
  • After registration, they gave you a login id and password, which you can use to login into the site 
  • After login there are many oppositions appear, you have to select the course in which you want to apply.
  • In the form you have to fill in your name, age sex, educational qualification, address, Phone no. and center of the exam( if the specific course demands), you also have to fill in your Registration no. etc. 
  • After applying for the course, you have to pay the form processing fee, the fee amount is different according to the Institution's policy.
  • When the fee is paid, you can print your form status slip via the site.
2. JOB-  If you don't want to do further study you can do a job in govt. sector or as well as in the private sector.
For getting employment in the central govt sector you must have 1 or more years of experience in at least 50 bedded hospitals. Some medical sectors don't want the experience to get you a job as a staff nurse. If you want to get a job as a nursing officer in AIIMS, with gnm you must have clear NORCET ( Nursing Officer Common Eligibility Test), and you should have 2 years experience of at least 50 bedded hospitals.

  5. IELTS( International English Language Test System)
If you clear IELTS you can get entry to UK, America, etc country as a nurse or other job opportunities.
